Drone survey or land surveyor? An honest comparison

Let me be honest straight away, because sales talk is no use to you: a drone does not replace a sworn land surveyor. But for a great deal of site work a drone flight is faster, cheaper and simply more practical. The skill is knowing what to use when.

Where the surveyor stays

Setting out a boundary, demarcating a plot, a subdivision plan or a deed: that is and remains the work of a sworn land surveyor. These are legal acts with a signature and liability. A drone has no business there. Anyone claiming a drone flight replaces a boundary survey is selling you a problem.

How accurate is a drone survey?
